Baltimore Orioles
(CL) Jim Johnson (R)–Recorded his 26th save of the season on Friday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. He forced two ground ball outs and one fly ball out on nine pitches to get the job done. (07/07/12)
(SU) Pedro Strop (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. He struck out one batter while forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to get the job done. (07/14/12)
(MR) Darren O’Day (R)–Picked up his fourth hold of the season on Friday night despite giving up one run on two hits and one walk while striking out one batter in the eighth inning. The run came via a Mike Trout solo-home run to bring the Angels within one run, but O’Day was able to get the job done before giving up the lead. (07/07/12)
Boston Red Sox
(CL) Alfredo Aceves (R)–Recorded his 20th save of the season on Friday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. He struck out one batter in the appearance while forcing two fly ball outs to get the job done. (07/14/12)
(SU) Vicente Padilla (R)–Picked up his 20th hold of the season on Friday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning giving up two hits while striking out one batter. He needed 14 pitches to get through the appearance with 10 going over for strikes. (07/14/12)
(MR) Mark Melancon (R)–Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Sunday giving up one hit while striking out three batters. Melancon has been solid since returning from Triple-A, so expect to see him stay in the bullpen for the remainder of the season. (07/09/12)

Chicago White Sox
(CL) Addison Reed (R)–Was charged with his second blown-save of the season on Friday night after surrendering one run on two hits in the 12th inning. This is not the way owners wanted Reed to start the second half, but he has shown the ability to bounce back in the past so this should be nothing to worry about. (07/14/12)
(SU) Matt Thornton (L)– Picked up his 14th hold of the season on Friday after pitching a scoreless seventh inning giving up two hits while striking out one batter. He needed 11 pitches to get through the appearance with eight going over for strikes. (07/14/12)
(MR) Hector Santiago (L)–Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Friday night forcing the only batter that he faced to ground out on five pitches. With this appearance Santiago lowered his earned-run average to 4.11 on the season. (07/14/12)
Cleveland Indians
(CL) Chris Perez (R)–Recorded his 25th save of the season on Friday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. He struck out one batter in the appearance while forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to start the second half of the season in the right direction. (07/14/12)

(SU) Joaquin Benoit (R)–Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Friday striking out the only batter he faced on six pitches thrown. Due to the low pitch count from this appearance, expect Benoit to be available for the rest of the series. (07/14/12)
(MR) Phil Coke (L)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Friday giving up two hits in the appearance. He was later relieved by Joaquin Benoit after allowing the two base runners, which neither one scored. (07/14/12)
Kansas City Royals
(CL) Jonathan Broxton (R)–Was charged with his fourth blown-save of the season on Friday night after surrendering one run on two hits and two walk in the ninth inning. Despite a rough outing, Broxton is still sitting on a 2.20 earned-run average on the season. (07/14/12)

(CL) Scott Downs (L)–Took the loss on Friday night after surrendering four runs on two hits and two walks in the eighth inning. This was a terrible outing for Downs, who saw his earned-run average raise all the way up to 1.47 in this appearance. (07/14/12)
(MR) Jordan Walden (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Sunday giving up one hit and one walk while striking out one batter. He needed 21 pitches to get through the appearance with 12 pitches going over for strikes. (07/09/12)
Minnesota Twins
(CL) Matt Capps (R)–Capps was activated from the disabled-list prior to the start of the Twins game against the Athletics on Friday night. He will resume his role as the team’s primary closer, but will likely get moved at the trade-deadline, which could mean more saves for Glen Perkins in the up-coming weeks. (07/14/12)
(SU) Glen Perkins (L)–Was charged with his third blown-save of the season on Sunday after giving up three runs on four hits. All of the runs were unearned, but he clearly didn’t have what it takes in this game. (07/09/12)
(MR) Jared Burton (R)–Pitched one inning of relief on Saturday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. He struck out two batters in the appearance and has now recorded five strikeouts in his last 3.1 innings of relief. (07/08/12)
New York Yankees
(CL) Rafael Soriano (R)–Recorded his 21st save of the season on Friday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one hit while striking out one batter. Soriano looked sharp in the appearance needing 16 pitches with 10 going over for strikes. (07/14/12)
(SU) David Robertson (R)–Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Sunday giving up one run on one hit and two walks while striking out one batter. Luckily for Robertson the Yankees had a big lead, so the run did not become an issue. (07/09/12)
(MR) Boone Logan (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief in Game 2 of Saturday’s doubleheader giving up one run on one hit and two walks while striking out one batter. Logan has now pitched back-to-back days and will likely get the day off on Sunday. (07/08/12)

(CL) Ryan Cook(R)–Recorded his ninth save of the season on Friday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning striking out two batters. Cook picked up right where he left off at the end of the first half continuing to be one of the best up-in-coming relievers in the game. (07/14/12)
(SU) Grant Balfour (R)–Picked up his 11th hold of the season on Friday after recording the final out of the eighth inning. He forced the only batter he faced to fly out on eight pitches thrown. (07/14/12)
(MR) Jordan Norberto (L)–Picked up a win on Sunday after pitching a scoreless 13th inning giving up one hit in the outing. With this outing Noberto improved to 2-1 on the season with a 3.03 earned-run average. (07/09/12)

(CL) Tom Wilhelmsen (R)–Was charged with his second blown-save of the season on Friday night after giving up one hit and two walks in 1.1 innings of relief. With this appearance Wilhelmsen lowered his earned-run average to 2.44 on the season. (07/07/12)
(SU) Brandon League (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Sunday giving up one hit in the appearance. He needed only eight pitches to get through the appearance forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to get the job done. (07/09/12)
(MR) Lucas Luetge (L)–Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Friday night striking out the only batter he faced on three pitches. With this appearance Luetge lowered his earned-run average to 1.59 on the season. (07/14/12)

(MR) Joel Peralta (R)–Picked up the win on Sunday despite giving up one run on one hit while striking out one batter. With this outing Peralta improved to 1-3 on the season with a 4.81 earned-run average. (07/09/12)

(CL) Joe Nathan (R)–Recorded his 19th save of the season on Friday night despite surrendering two runs on three hits and one walk in the outing. This was a rough outing for Nathan, but at least he escaped with the save. (07/14/12)
(SU) Mike Adams (R)–Picked up his 16th hold of the season on Friday after recording the final out of the eighth inning. He forced the only batter that he faced to fly out on six pitches thrown. (07/14/12)
(MR) Robbie Ross (L)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Sunday needing only seven pitches to get the job done. He forced one ground ball out and one fly ball out to get through the appearance. (07/09/12)

(CL) Casey Janssen (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation giving up one hit while striking out two batters. There is still no word about when Sergio Santos will return, but even when he does it is hard to imagine that Janssen will be removed from the closer role. (07/14/12)
(SU) Jason Frasor (R)– Pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Friday giving up one hit while striking out one batter. With this appearance Frasor lowered his earned-run average to 3.63 on the season. (07/14/12)
(MR) Francisco Cordero (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief o Thursday surrendering three runs on five hits while striking out one batter. With this appearance Cordero’s earned-run average ballooned to 6.00 on the season. (07/06/12)

(CL) J.J. Putz (R)–Recorded his 16th save of the season on Saturday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one hit and one walk while striking out one batter. Once again Putz allowed a few base runners, but was able to work out of the jam by forcing two ground ball outs. (07/08/12)
(SU) David Hernandez (R)–Picked up his 12th hold of the season on Saturday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning giving up one walk while striking out two batters. Hernandez has now recorded a hold each of the last two nights while striking out two batters in each of the two appearances. (07/08/12)
(MR) Bryan Shaw (R)–Failed to record an out in his appearance on Friday night giving up one run on three hits and one walk in the seventh inning. Shaw has been relatively effective for the majority of the season so don’t look too much into this outing. (07/07/12)

(CL) Craig Kimbrel (R)–Recorded his 26th save of the season on Friday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning. He gave up one hit while striking out three batters while lowering his earned-run average to 1.32 on the season. (07/14/12)
(SU) Eric O’Flaherty (L)–Picked up his 16th hold of the season on Friday despite giving up one run on two hits in the eighth inning. He struck out one batter in the appearance, but raised his earned-run average to 3.06 on the season. (07/14/12)
(MR) Kris Medlen (R)–Picked up his sixth hold of the season on Friday night after pitching two scoreless innings of relief. He gave up one walk in the appearance while striking out three batters on 36 pitches thrown. (07/14/12)

Chicago Cubs
(CL) Carlos Marmol (R)–Pitched one inning of relief on Friday night surrendering three runs on two hits and three walks while striking out one batter. He almost blew the game for the Cubs, but luckily for them he was able to force a fly out to end the game. (07/07/12)
(SU) James Russell (L)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Sunday giving up one hit in the outing. With this appearance Russell lowered his earned-run average to 2.38 on the season. (07/09/12)

(SU) Sean Marshall (L)–Picked up his 11th hold of the season on Friday after pitching 0.1 innings of relief giving up one hit and one walk in the appearance. This wasn’t the way he probably wanted to start the second half of the season, but at least he didn’t surrender any runs. (07/14/12)
(MR) Jose Arredondo (R)–Picked up his sixth hold of the season on Friday night despite giving up one run on two hits in the eighth inning. With this appearance Arredondo raided his earned-run average to 2.25 on the season. (07/14/12)

Colorado Rockies
(CL) Rafael Betancourt (R)–Recorded his 15th save of the season on Sunday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one hit and one walk while striking out two batters. His command was a bit of an issue in this matchup, but he was able to work out of a jam to get the job done. (07/09/12)
(SU) Matt Belisle (R)–Picked up his 12th hold of the season on Friday night after pitching a scoreless seventh inning giving up one hit while striking out two batters. The Rockies bullpen has been very shaky this season, but Belisle has been one of the bright spots and is now sitting on a 1.89 earned-run average on the season. (07/14/12)
(MR) Matt Reynolds (L)–Pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Thursday giving up one hit while striking out one batter. Reynolds has now pitched back-to-back days and will likely get the day off on Friday. (07/06/12)
Houston Astros
(CL) Brett Myers (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday in a non-save situation giving up one hit and one walk in the outing. It wasn’t his best showing, but at least he was able to escape from the jam by forcing two ground ball outs and one fly ball out. (07/09/12)
(SU) Brandon Lyon (R)–Was charged with his second blown-save on Sunday after giving up one hit while striking out two batters in 0.2 innings of relief. Lyon ends the first half of the season with five holds and a 3.24 earned-run average. (07/09/12)
(MR) Wilton Lopez (R)–Lopez was activated from the disabled-list earlier in the week and will resume his role in mid-relief. He is a decent option in holds leagues, but the Astros will limit his hold totals. (07/14/12)

(MR) Josh Lindblom (R)–Pitched two innings of relief on Saturday night giving up one run on one hit and one walk while striking out one batter. The run came via a Jason Kubel home run with two outs in the eighth inning, which raised his earned-run average to 3.07 on the season. (07/08/12)

(CL) Heath Bell (R)–Took the loss and was charged with his sixth blown-save of the season on Sunday after surrendering three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out one batter. With this appearance Bell falls to 2-5 on the season with a 6.75 earned-run average and is in jeopardy of losing the closer role. (07/09/12)
(SU) Steve Cishek (R)–Picked up his 12th hold of the season on Sunday after striking out the only batter he faced in the eighth inning. Cishek ends the first half of the season with a 2.17 earned-run average and may get a chance to close before the season ends with the continuing struggles of Heath Bell. (07/09/12)
(MR) Mike Dunn (L)–Picked up his seventh hold of the season on Sunday after pitching 1.2 innings of relief giving up one walk while striking out one batter. Dunn has had a rough first half, but this type of appearance is the kind that could turn his season around. (07/09/12)

(CL) John Axford (R)–Pitched one inning of relief on Friday night in a non-save situation giving up one run on two hits while striking out one batter. Once again, Axford gave up a home run, which has been his biggest problem on the season. (07/14/12)
(SU) Francisco Rodriguez (R)–Picked up the win on Friday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning giving up one walk while striking out two batters. With this appearance Rodriguez goes to 2-4 on the season with a 3.86 earned-run average. (07/14/12)
(MR) Kameron Loe (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Saturday giving up one hit while striking out one batter. He needed only nine pitches to get through the appearance with eight pitches going over for strikes. (07/08/12)
New York Mets
(CL) Bobby Parnell (R)–Recorded his second save of the season on Saturday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one hit while striking out one batter. He needed 26 pitches to get through the inning, which is a very high amount, but expect him to be available Sunday if the Mets need him for a save situation. (07/08/12)
(SU) Jon Rauch (R)–Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Thursday giving up one hit in the outing. He was used to get the first out of the eighth inning and was then relieved by Tim Byrdak because a left-handed hitter was coming up to the plate. (07/06/12)
(MR) Miguel Batista (R)–Pitched two innings of relief on Friday night giving up one run on four hits and one walk while striking out two batters. He needed 32 pitches to get through the appearance with 21 pitches going over for strikes. (07/07/12)

(CL) Jonathan Papelbon (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday in a non-save situation giving up one hit while striking out two batters. This was a nice bounce-back appearance from Papelbon after blowing the save on Thursday, so he appears to be back on track. (07/09/12)
(SU) Antonio Bastardo (L)–Took the loss on Friday night after surrendering five runs on two hits and three walks in the eighth inning. He retired just two batters in the appearance, which raised his earned-run average to 5.34 on the season. (07/07/12)
(MR) Jeremy Horst (L)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Sunday retiring all three batters he faced in order. Horst has now pitched three straight days, but will the All-Star break he will get plenty of rest before Friday’s game. (07/09/12)
Injured–David Herndon (15-Day DL)
Pittsburgh Pirates
(CL) Joel Hanrahan (R)–Recorded his 23rd save of the season on Saturday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one hit in the outing. With this outing Hanrahan lowered his earned-run average to 2.38 on the season. (07/08/12)
(SU) Jason Grilli (R)–Picked up his 21st hold of the season on Saturday after striking out the side in the eighth inning. Grilli has become one of the best setup men in all of baseball and is currently sitting on a 1.87 earned-run average with 54 strikeouts. (07/08/12)
(MR) Juan Cruz (R)–Pitched one inning of relief on Friday night giving up one run on two hits in the outing. With this appearance Cruz raised his earned-run average to 2.76 on the season, which is very respectable for a mid-reliever. (07/07/12)

(CL) Huston Street (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday in a non-save situation giving up one hit and two walks while striking out two batters. Street ends the first half of the season with 13 saves with a 1.13 earned-run average. (07/09/12)
(SU) Dale Thayer (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Friday night giving up one hit in the outing. He needed only nine pitches to get through the appearance forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to get the job done. (07/14/12)
(MR) Luke Gregerson (R)–Pitched one inning of relief on Sunday needing only six pitches to get the job done. He forced three ground ball outs in the appearance and lowered his earned-run average to 3.46 on the season. (07/09/12)
San Francisco Giants
(CL) Santiago Casilla (R)–Recorded his 22nd save of the season on Friday night after pitching 0.2 innings of relief striking out both batters he faced on nine pitches thrown. Casilla was unavailable the last few days of the first half, but it appears he has gotten over the injury. (07/14/12)
(SU) Sergio Romo (R)–Picked up his 15th hold of the season on Friday after pitching one inning of relief giving up one hit and one walk while striking out one batter. With this appearance Romo lowered his earned-run average to 0.69 on the season. (CL) Jason Motte (R)–Recorded his 20th save of the season on Saturday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up two hits while striking out one batter. This was Motte’s first appearance since Thursday, so he will be available out of the bullpen on Sunday. (07/08/12)
(SU) Mitchell Boggs (R)–Picked up the win on Sunday after striking out the only batter that he faced in the ninth inning. With this appearance Boggs lowered his earned-run average to 1.91 on the season. (07/09/12)
(MR) Marc Rzepczynski (L)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Sunday giving up two hits and two walks in the outing. He needed 21 pitches to get through the appearance with only nine pitches going over for strikes. (07/09/12)
Washington Nationals
