Baltimore Orioles
(CL) Jim Johnson (R)–Was charged with his second blown-save of the season on Saturday after giving up three runs on four hits while striking out one batter in the ninth inning. This was his first outing since last week, so hopefully he will be able to put this behind him and return back to what he did in the first half of the season. (07/15/12)
(SU) Pedro Strop (R)–Picked up his 14th hold of the season on Saturday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning. Strop has now pitched back-to-back days and will likely get the day off on Sunday. (07/15/12)
(MR) Darren O’Day (R)–Picked up his fifth hold of the season on Saturday after pitching a scoreless seventh inning giving up one hit while striking out one batter. With this appearance O’Day lowered his earned-run average to 2.50 on the season. (07/15/12)
Boston Red Sox
(CL) Alfredo Aceves (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday in a non-save situation giving up three walks while striking out one batter. Aceves got himself into a jam, but was able to forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to get the job done. (07/16/12) (SU) Vicente Padilla (R)–Picked up his 20th hold of the season on Friday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning giving up two hits while striking out one batter. He needed 14 pitches to get through the appearance with 10 going over for strikes. (07/14/12)
(MR) Mark Melancon (R)–Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Sunday retiring all five batters he faced in order on 19 pitches thrown. Melancon has now pitched back-to-back days and will likely be given the day off on Monday. (07/16/12)

(CL) Addison Reed (R)–Recorded his 14th save of the season on Sunday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one hit in the outing. This was a nice bounce-back performance from Reed, who gave up one run in his last appearance, so he appears to be going in the right direction moving forward. (07/16/12)
(SU) Matt Thornton (L)– Picked up his 14th hold of the season on Friday after pitching a scoreless seventh inning giving up two hits while striking out one batter. He needed 11 pitches to get through the appearance with eight going over for strikes. (07/14/12)
(MR) Hector Santiago (L)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Saturday giving up one walk in the outing. Santiago ha now pitched back-to-back days and will likely be given the day off on Sunday. (07/15/12)
Cleveland Indians
(CL) Chris Perez (R)–Recorded his 25th save of the season on Friday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. He struck out one batter in the appearance while forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to start the second half of the season in the right direction. (07/14/12)
(SU) Vinnie Pestano (R)–Picked up his 24th hold of the season on Friday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. He struck out two batters in the appearance while forcing one fly ball out on 14 pitches thrown in the outing. (07/14/12)
(MR) Tony Sipp (L)–Picked up his 10th hold of the season on Sunday after striking out the only batter he faced to end the seventh inning. He needed six pitches to get the job done with three pitches going over for strikes. (07/09/12)
Detroit Tigers
(CL) Jose Valverde (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday in a non-save situation giving up one hit in the outing. Valverde has now pitched three straight days and will likely be unavailable to pitch on Monday against the Angels. (07/16/12)
(SU) Joaquin Benoit (R)–Took the loss on Saturday after surrendering three runs on two hits in the 13th inning. He recorded only two outs in the appearance while giving up two home runs to end the game. (07/15/12)
(MR) Phil Coke (L)–Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Saturday giving up two walks in the outing. He allowed a few base runners but was able to work out of the jam by forcing four ground ball outs and one fly ball out. (07/15/12)

(MR) Aaron Crow (R)–Was charged with his third blown-save of the season on Saturday after giving up two hits in the sixth inning. Crow did not give up any runs, so his earned-run average lowered to 3.79 on the season. (07/15/12)

Los Angeles Angels
(CL) Ernesto Frieri (R)– Failed to record an out in his appearance on Sunday surrendering three runs on one hit and two walks in the ninth inning. The three runs were Frieri’s first earned-runs allowed this season but did not get charged with a blown-save due to the big lead the Angels had when he entered the game. (07/16/12)
(CL) Scott Downs (L)–Picked up his 16th hold of the season on Sunday after pitching 0.2 innings of relief giving up one hit and two walks in the outing. Downs was removed after loading the bases, but escaped unharmed after Kevin Jepsen cleaned up the mess forcing Alex Rodriguez to pop-out to end the game. (07/16/12)
(MR) Jordan Walden (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Sunday giving up one hit and one walk while striking out one batter. He needed 21 pitches to get through the appearance with 12 pitches going over for strikes. (07/09/12)
Minnesota Twins
(CL) Matt Capps (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Saturday retiring all three batters he faced in order. This was Capps’ first outing since returning from the disabled-list and will likely return to his role as the team’s closer once a save situation arises. (07/15/12)

(MR) Jordan Norberto (L)–Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Saturday giving up one run on three hits in the appearance. The run came via a Josh Willingham home run and luckily no one was on base or else it could’ve been a lot worse. (07/15/12)

(MR) Kameron Loe (R)–Took the loss and was charged with his fourth blown-save of the season on Saturday after surrendering two runs on two hits and one walk in 0.2 innings of relief. This is not the way owners in deep holds leagues wanted Loe to start the second half, so hopefully he will be able to rebound in his next appearance. (07/15/12)

(CL) Bobby Parnell (R)–Took the loss and was charged with his fourth blown-save of the season on Saturday after surrendering one run on three hits in the eighth inning. Parnell is only filling in for Frank Francisco while he recovers from an injury, and with performances like this one he will likely move back to a setup role when he returns. (07/15/12)
(SU) Jon Rauch (R)–Picked up his ninth hold of the season on Saturday after pitching 0.2 innings of relief giving up one walk in the outing. With this appearance Rauch lowered his earned-run average to 3.94 on the season. (07/15/12)
