American League

Baltimore Orioles
(CL) Jim Johnson (R)–Recorded his 40th save of the season on Monday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one hit while striking out one batter. Johnson is not known for his strikeouts, but in his last three innings of relief he has struck out five batters. (08/28/12)
(SU) Pedro Strop (R)–Picked up the win on Monday night despite giving up one run on three hits while striking out one batter in the eighth inning. With this appearance Strop raised his earned-run average to 1.56 on the season. (08/28/12)
(MR) Darren O’Day (R)–Pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Monday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. He struck out two batters in the appearance while forcing one ground ball out on 15 pitches thrown. (08/28/12)

Boston Red Sox
(CL) Alfredo Aceves (R)–Took the loss and was charged with his eighth blown-save of the season on Tuesday night after giving up two runs on one hit and one walk in 1.2 innings of relief. This was Aceves’ first appearance since returning from his team suspension and will likely start to lose save chances to Andrew Bailey moving forward. (08/29/12)
(CL) Andrew Bailey (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Monday in a non-save situation giving up one walk in the outing. Although the Red Sox have yet to officially announce the switch, Bailey appears to be the teams closer moving forward. (08/28/12)
(MR) Vicente Padilla (R)–Picked up his 22nd hold of the season on Monday after retiring both batters he faced in order. He only needed three pitches to get through the appearance forcing two ground ball outs to get the job done. (08/28/12)

Chicago White Sox
(CL) Addison Reed (R)–Recorded his 24th save of the season on Saturday night despite giving up one run on two hits while striking out one batter. Reed has now given up three runs in his last two appearances and will need to turn things around if he wants to stay in the closer role. (08/26/12)
(SU) Brett Myers (R)– Took the loss on Monday night after surrendering two runs on one hit and one walk while striking out one batter in two innings of relief. With this appearance Myers raised his earned-run average to 3.38 since joining the White Sox. (08/28/12)
(MR) Matt Thornton (L)– Picked up his 21st hold of the season on Saturday night after pitching 0.2 innings of relief giving up one hit and one walk. He needed 13 pitches to get through the appearance forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to get the job done. (08/26/12)

Cleveland Indians
(CL) Chris Perez (R)–Recorded his 33rd save of the season on Saturday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Perez looked sharp in this appearance striking out two batters while forcing one ground ball out on 13 pitches thrown. (08/26/12)
(SU) Vinnie Pestano (R)–Picked up his 33rd hold of the season on Saturday after pitching 1.1 innings of relief giving up just one walk. He needed 29 pitches to get through the appearance striking out one batter while forcing two ground ball outs and one fly ball out to get the job done. (08/26/12)
(MR) Tony Sipp (L)–Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Tuesday night striking out two batters in the appearance. With this outing Sipp lowered his earned-run average to 4.57 on the season in a nice bounce back from his last appearance. (08/29/12)

Detroit Tigers
(CL) Jose Valverde (R)–Pitched one inning of relief on Sunday in a non-save situation giving up one run on one hit while striking out one batter. Valverde has now pitched back-to-back days but with a scheduled day off on Monday he should be ready to go on Tuesday. (08/27/12)
(SU) Joaquin Benoit (R)–Picked up his 26th hold of the season on Sunday after pitching a 1-2-3 eighth inning. He struck out two batters in the appearance while forcing one fly ball out on 10 pitches to get the job done. (08/27/12)
(MR) Phil Coke (L)–Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Tuesday night giving up one hit and one walk while striking out one batter. With this appearance Coke lowered his earned-run average to 3.72 on the season. (08/29/12)

Kansas City Royals
(CL) Greg Holland (R)–Recorded his eighth save of the season on Tuesday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning. He got into a jam by allowing two base runners but was able to work out of it striking out one batter while forcing one ground ball and one fly ball out to get the job done. (08/29/12)
(SU) Aaron Crow (R)–Picked up the win on Tuesday despite being charged with his sixth blown-save of the season after giving up one run on one hit in 1.1 innings of relief. He struck out three batters in the appearance while improving to 3-1 on the season. (08/29/12)
(MR) Tim Collins (L)–Failed to record an out in his appearance on Tuesday night walking the only batter that he faced in the seventh inning. He needed six pitches to in the appearance with only two pitches going over for strikes. (08/29/12)

Los Angeles Angels
(CL) Ernesto Frieri (R)– Picked up the win despite being charged with this second blown-save of the season on Thursday after surrendering two runs in two innings of relief. Despite the rough outing Frieri still walked away with the win while striking out four batters in his efforts. (08/24/12)
(SU) Kevin Jepsen (R)–Picked up the win on Tuesday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one hit in the outing. With this appearance Jepsen improves to 3-2 on the season with a 3.45 earned-run average. (08/29/12)
(MR) Scott Downs (L)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Sunday giving up one run on two hits while striking out one batter. With this appearance Downs raised his earned-run average to 3.08 on the season, which has been steadily increasing since the All-Star break. (08/27/12)

Minnesota Twins
(CL) Glen Perkins (L)–Recorded his eighth save of the season on Sunday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning needing only nine pitches. He struck out one batter in the appearance while forcing two fly ball outs to get the job done. (08/27/12)

(SU) David Robertson (R)–Picked up his 21st hold of the season on Tuesday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning. He retired all three batters he faced in order and ahs now pitched three consecutive days so don’t expect to see him take the mound on Wednesday. (08/29/12)
(MR) Boone Logan (R–Picked up the win on Sunday after pitching 1.2 innings of relief giving up one hit while striking out two batters. With this appearance Logan lowered his earned-run average to 3.92 on the season. (08/27/12)

(CL) Grant Balfour (R)–Recorded his 15th save of the season on Monday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one walk while striking out three batters. With this appearance Balfour lowered his earned-run average to 2.54 on the season. (08/28/12)
(SU) Ryan Cook(R)–Picked up his 13th hold of the season on Monday after pitching a 1-2-3 eighth inning striking out two batters. Cook has now struck out nine batters in his last 3.2 innings of relief which has brought his total up to 60 strikeouts on the season. (08/28/12)
(MR) Sean Doolittle (L)–Picked up his ninth hold of the season on Saturday after retiring all three batters he faced in order. He struck out two batters in the appearance while forcing one fly ball out on 12 pitches thrown. (08/26/12)

Seattle Mariners
(CL) Tom Wilhelmsen (R)–Recorded his 20th save of the season on Tuesday night after pitching 0.1 innings of relief. He faced just two batters in the appearance allowing one walk while forcing one fly ball out to get the job done. (08/29/12)
(SU) Lucas Luetge (L)–Failed to record an out in his appearance on Sunday giving up a hit on two pitches to the only batter he faced. Luetge has now pitched back-to-back days and will likely be unavailable to pitch on Monday. (08/27/12)

(SU) Joel Peralta (R)–Took the loss on Thursday night after giving up two runs on two hits in the eighth inning. This was the second straight outing in which Peralta blew the game for the Rays and if he doesn’t turn it around he will likely be replaced with Kyle Farnsworth in the setup role. (08/25/12)
(MR) Kyle Farnsworth (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Monday night giving up one walk in the outing. He needed only 10 pitches to get through the appearance forcing three ground ball outs to get the job done. (08/28/12)

(CL) Joe Nathan (R)–Recorded his 27th save of the season on Tuesday night after striking out the side in the ninth inning. Nathan has now pitched back-to-back days and will likely be unavailable to pitch on Wednesday. (08/29/12)

(SU) Ronald Belisario (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Sunday giving up one run on one hit and two walks. The run was unearned so Belisario got lucky in that sense, but he still looked bad and was lucky to escape without any more damage done. (08/27/12)
(MR) Brandon League (R)–Pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Monday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. League hasn’t look too good since joining the Dodgers, so hopefully this outing will turn things around for him. (08/28/12)

(CL) Steve Cishek (R)–Recorded his 11th save of the season on Sunday after pitching 1.1 innings of scoreless relief giving up two walks in the outing. With this appearance Cishek lowered his earned-run average to 2.06 on the season. (08/27/12)
(SU) Heath Bell (R)–Picked up his 10th hold of the season on Sunday after pitching 0.2 innings of relief giving up two hits while striking out one batter.
