The Matt Capps Era, Umm Month Begins

Matt Capps entered today’s game for his first save opportunity since taking over as closer of the Minnesota Twins. The good news, he was given a three run lead and got the save. The bad news, he gave up a bomb to Luke Scott.

This will be the problem with Capps. He has become a contact pitcher and no longer has the zip to get the ball past good hitters on a consistent basis.

His time as closer will be short, so enjoy the roller coaster while you can and invest in some  Pepcid AC!
